Fall Break Hangout Rapokki Cooking

Thanks for hanging out with us during Fall Break.  We made an awesome recipe together.  It's called Rapokki because it combines ramen with topokki (Korean mochi sticks) to make a hot creamy mess! It's so ono and so easy to make that everyone can try it at home.

Ingredients: 1 package of Korean ramen, 4 oz of fish cake, 4 oz of topokki, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, cheese, egg, chopped green onions, dashi (fish broth base, optional).

Note: You can get most of the ingredients at a Korean market like Palama Market or H-Mart. Nothing is exact, you can add or remove to your liking.  Be creative and improvise!

1. Rinse the topokki under water or give it a soak for 10 a few minutes

2. Cut the fish cake into your desired shape

3. Add dashi to 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.  Then add in cut fish cake and topokki.  You can remove the dashi pouch now.

4. Add the ramen seasoning packet to the pot.  Let it simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.

5. Add the ramen into the pot and let it cook for another 5 minutes.  Loosen the ramen with chopsticks.

6. After 5 minutes, shut down heat and add, cream and egg (you can use boiled egg or fresh egg).

7. Add cheese right before serving (if you don't have heavy cream at home, use more cheese!)

8. Garnish with green onions and seaweed flakes.

I hope you enjoy this recipe!  Credit to Janet for teaching us and for the photos.  Leave a comment below.  Share how you modified the recipe to make it even better!
