Living Faith Live It Out

This next 3 weeks, we will discuss on how to Break Down The Barriers of Life with the emphasis on relationships and how others can help us move through life further faster.   Today's story reminds us that God uses Spiritual Leaders in our lives to do good.  They may have to speak stern words but all in all, they mean well.  Spiritual Leaders hold themselves in greater accountability than anyone else.   In this story, we saw three things that Prophet Samuel did to King Saul.    Samuel calls Saul To Be King (1 Sam. 9:15-17; 10:20-24) Samuel calls out Saul's Impatience (1 Sam. 13:7-14) Samuel calls out Saul's Rebellion to God (1 Sam. 15:10-15; 20-23) These are the five principles we learn on what Spiritual Leaders do in our lives. I want to thank Pastor Jim Breckenridge who preached for us the past three Sundays challenging us to remain steadfast and chose Jesus in everything.  This is a timely reminder as we experience a new restriction in the fight over COVID-19.   Pastor Jim has traveled back to Virginia and will continue to serve as Army Chaplain.    Let's continue to pray for the college students who had already made a transition or are about to move to the mainland.  I want us also to pray and welcome back those who have traveled to be with their family.    These next Sundays, we will look at what it means to move forward when you feel stuck by looking at interesting bible characters of the Old Testament.   This study will focus on helping you take a step back, refocus on vision, take a gutsy move like undoing what does not work, and taking a calculative move that is filled with hope and faith.    Living Faith Baptist Church 477 N.   1. Peter was impetuous (impulsive), both in his words and actions, throughout Jesus’ earthly ministry. When is it good to be this way? When is it bad? Examples from the Bible may provide some clues.  2. How were Jesus’ words to Peter a restoration of a right relationship between them? What does this say about my walk with Christ? 3. What does Peter’s question about John have to tell me about the mission that Christ has for me? What should be my response to that mission?

1. How was Jesus' statement in Matthew 26:64 a rebuke to the High Priest?  How should it change our outlook and actions? 2. Unlike the other disciples, Peter followed Jesus to his trial, but at a distance.  In what ways do we try to "straddle the fence" and in what concrete ways can we correct such fence-straddling? 3. At the Last Supper, Peter claimed to be ready to follow - and die for Jesus if necessary, but when the crisis came, Peter failed and was deeply ashamed.  How can we be ready for the spiritual battles that has planned for us?
